About the Artist

Jaime Corum’s equine portraiture captures the conformation and the spirit of the horse through an understanding informed by years of experience in equine sports. A proud Kentuckian, she spent her formative years partly in the saddle and the rest of her time painting and drawing horses.  From this hands-on experience and years of focused practice, she developed her artistic eye and skill for capturing her equine subjects. She received her MFA from The University of Kentucky and continued to fine tune her art while teaching art at the collegiate level.  As her career progressed, she returned to her mountain studio home where she paints full time and continues to emerge into the international sporting art marketplace.

Collectors of her work span across the US, Canada, and the UK with print sales reaching further into the international market.  Works by Jaime Corum first arrived in the Keeneland Sporting Arts Auction in 2018 and continue to exhibit at the most prestigious sporting art galleries.  Her works were featured in multiple publications and programs, including Keeneland Magazine and Equestrian Living.  Much of her current work is upon commission by the connections of the most accomplished equine athletes of our time.

Each Corum portrait begins with the foundation of her understanding of equine conformation and movement and enhances that with the intangible quality of the horse’s character, capturing the essence of each equine subject.
